Wrapping it up in Batumi

It's a simple plan for today with something for each of us. We catch a cab to the Wyndham, play a little, and ask for breakfast. The buffet doesn't open until eleven and we're a little early for that. The lady asks if we want omelets. I'm good with that since I have no idea what else might be available. Turns out we're actually ordering a Turkish breakfast, but you can get it without the eggs! That's a happy surprise since the guys next to us have that and I was filling a little cheated!!
At any rate, I do a creditable job on mine and at 11:45 start campaigning for a shut down so we can be on time upstairs. No worries, we're five minutes early. I have Ammar's lady from yesterday because he wanted me to experience her technique and she really is amazing! She spent twenty years as a physiotherapist in Ukraine before coming here. I get finished after Ammar and he has already gone back downstairs. Our deal was that he got to play and then I will get to shop. For a while it looks like he'll continue his winning streak; but it doesn't happen. It would have been nice; but there isn't any of our real money on the table, so it really not a big deal! I don't know why everyone doesn't do this!! Maybe it's not allowed at home??
There he is! Look familiar to anyone? |
Really wouldn't want her job! |
I guess he can do this without looking!! It sure came out great! |
Anyway, we play down to zero and say good-bye to the Princess Casino. We're down near our old stomping grounds and I look for a tee-shirt that fits me better than some I brought (bread and cheese will do you in!). No luck, so we catch a cab for our last fresh seafood dinner. This time we choose a half kilo of shrimp and a (relatively) small salmon. At least I think he's a salmon. Whatever he is, he's delicious!
Lost in thought |
Presentation is everything! |
It's too far to walk home so we take a cab. While we were at the restaurant I texted Beqa to ask where to leave the keys in the morning, and Anna, to find out what time our ride is coming. When we get home they have both responded. Beqa gave us instructions and Anna asked if five in the afternoon would work!! Well, NO! I tell her that we'll figure out something else and will see her in a couple of days for the Wine and Dine experience. We'll just take a cab to the bus station and catch one of the little minibuses, called marushkas, and it will be lots cheaper and another new experience. It also means that we don't have to be packed and ready to go at 6:45 a.m.!! Win win in my book!
There's time for showers and such and I have two days' worth of blogging to do, so I don't care that Ammar has a friend in town that he'd like to see. It all works out and my needs have been met! I can even pack at my own speed! And I can investigate Georgian TV. There were three soccer matches, a boxing match, several British dramas dubbed in Georgian, a couple of interview and news shows that were in Russian (I think) and Animal Planet!! Another win win! And another wonderful day! Tomorrow, on to Kutaisi.
Your photos are amazing - as always. And your joy is infectious. So glad you are enjoying yourself!
