You never know what's coming

Oh boy!  Without the sun in my face I can sleep all the way to 7:30 and there's nowhere we have to be right away!  Ammar is up early, too, for a change, and after a while he goes to the cave while I do my yoga and morning stuff.  Then I meet him and we have breakfast.

Okay, this is actually from last night, out our window. One of the few times I've
really missed my big camera!!

My new addiction, but only when I travel and it's FREE!

I can finish it all if they leave out the omelet!  Ammar has, basically,
a toasted cheese sandwich.  Just another version of his normal bread and cheese.

We are interrupted by a text message from Ammar's older son, Hussein, saying that Mohammad, his younger brother, is in the hospital in a diabetic coma.  It's his second one. There's not much more frightening than your child in danger.  Arrangements have to be made and I suggest that Ammar might need to go home.  He says, "No".  He can't change anything by being there and he won't leave me here alone. Ammar's brother, Bashar, is there and keeps us informed of everything that is happening.  The doctors are saying that Mohammad's sugar levels are coming down from where they were at 500.

The signs say things like "Putin is a war criminal. Stop the war." "20% of Georgia is occupied by Russia"
"Russians in Georgia against Putin, against fascism" and "Russians against war"

We take a long walk and find a couple of interesting things!  There's another demonstration for Ukraine in front of the parliament building.  We discuss whether this actually makes any difference - probably not.  They are preaching to the choir, just like we do at home in support of all our favorite causes!  More fun, though, is the priest who is feeding the pigeons!  Ammar used to have homing pigeons and is hoping to do that again one day.  His eyes light up as he watches them! And they take his mind off Mohammad for a brief time.

Just a little "slice of life" photo from our street.

Lovely grilled salmon on a rice bed with baby carrots.

  1. Yikes! It sounds like Mohammad is getting the care that he needs and hopefully, all will be well. Hugs to all.

    1. Yes, he's awake and has been to the bathroom by himself. And because it's Jordan, the hospital wants more money.

  2. So glad that Ammar did not cut short your vacation together. It's true that he could do nothing to improve Mohammad's condition, and he was accessible to him and family, too, by text and phone. You are such a good person - very supportive.

    1. Ammar was so worried! And who wouldn't be? And what else could I do?
